Some Lebanese songs have accent when composers tend to keep a certain rhyme.
It often happens with the way vowels are pronounced, especially with the ‘e’ which in some songs would be pronounced as ‘a’ or ‘ii’, and the "o" pronounced as "u". The lyrics are written below as they are pronounced by the singer. In case the song has an accent, another version will be posted showing how the Lebanese would pronounce the words of the song when using them in regular conversation *.

In the cold days - in winter,
When the sidewalk like a lake - and the street is drowned,
That girl comes - from her old house,
He tells her to wait, and she awaits in the street
He has gone away, forgotten about her,
and she withers away - in winter.

The stranger women passed by - and gave me a letter,
my lover had written - with his sorrow tears,
I opened the letter - whose letters were lost,
and days passed, like if years have estranged us,
while letters of the letter, were eared by rain.. |
